A MUSICAL inspired by the world's most famous love story will bring the streets of Manhattan to a music centre in Barton.
Youngsters from Oxfordshire Youth Music Theatre are set to sing and dance under the spotlight for a production of West Side Story.
The classic production is a take on Shakespearean tragedy Romeo and Juliet, shifting the story from the cobbled streets of Verona to gang territory of New York.
Students from schools across Oxfordshire take part in the theatre group, which is part of Oxfordshire County Music Service.
The cast twirled and leapt across the stage at rehearsals last night, ahead of the first public performance a week tomorrow.
Shows run from Wednesday, April 18 until Saturday, April 21 at 7.30pm.
There will also be a matinee performance on the show’s last day at 2.30pm.
It takes place at the Centre for Music, with tickets via wegottickets.com/west-side-story.
