YOUNG entrepreneurs will join forces tomorrow to help host an annual trade fair.

The North and West Oxfordshire area Young Enterprise will put on the fair in Banbury as part of the town’s Charter Market, giving students aged between 15 and 18 the opportunity to sell products and services.

Cherwell District Council lead member for estates and the economy Lynn Pratt said: “These young entrepreneurs represent the future of business in Britain and it will be great to see them getting to grips with the realities of business life at this market event.

“Cherwell is a district of opportunity and the council will continue to encourage activities that promote this.

“ I would urge people to come along and support the trade fair and pick up some bargains at the same time.”

The students are taking part in a nationwide Young Enterprise programme, in which they set up and run their own student companies over a school year.

The Trade Fair is part of this work, to help students test their sales and marketing skills.

They will be selling a range of products from recipe books and upcycled wooden products to clothing, mugs and anti-fraud devices for bank cards.

A team of mystery shoppers will also be on hand to determine which groups offer the best product and customer service.

The fair will run from 9am to 4pm in Banbury’s Market Place.

The scheme is being supported by Cherwell District Council and local businesses.
