YOU could almost be forgiven for thinking we were having a traditionally mild spring looking at this idyllic image from Tom Arran Skinner.

This week’s Camera Club theme is ‘three’s the magic number’ and it has produced a wide variety of imaginative and quirky entries that have left us impressed.

There have also been some great wildlife snaps, from hares and geese to dogs and ducks, with a particular highlight being the one featured above.

Here three cows have been captured basking in some rare sunshine at Port Meadow, Oxford while lying on grass littered with flowers and the river Thames shining in the background.

As well of the promise of things to come there's a pleasing symmetry to Mr Skinner's photograph which sees the three cows helpfully arranged in a triangle with the one in the middle furthest away.

For the eagle-eyed there is also a bonus trio in the background of the picture, where three figures can be seen sitting beside the water.

A two-page spread of this week’s best entries will appear in tomorrow’s paper.

And on Saturday we will announce this week's winner.

To join our Camera Club, which now has almost 600 members, visit Facebook and search for Oxford Mail Camera Club.

Each week there is a £25 prize, sponsored by Jessop’s, for the best picture.

Happy snapping!
