AN UNUSUAL housing estate including five homes for adults with learning disabilities is moving ahead.
Matthew Homes has this month revealed the building materials it will use on the 48-home estate at Milton Hill for which it won planning permission in 2015.
The estate will include five ‘residential units’ to be run by the Home Farm Trust.
The national charity helps adults with learning disabilities, especially autism, to live independent lives.
Describing its proposed ‘facility’ at Milton Hill, the charity said it was hoping to enable a ‘variety of care home services’ to be offered.
It said ‘consideration is being given to further education with those experiencing mental and physical health problems, in order to empower the individual’.
The trust also said the development would ‘create up to 40 full and part-time jobs for local people’.
