AN AIR ambulance that operates across Thames Valley is encouraging people to help keep it on the front line saving lives.

Thames Valley Air Ambulance will hold a new fundraising event called the Thames Valley Trek on Saturday, June 16.

The event is a walking challenge which meanders alongside the River Thames, crossing through Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire.

Supporters can choose the distance which suits them with two route options.

They can either take on the challenge of the full 26-mile route or trek the half marathon distance of 13 miles.

To sign up, walkers can visit tvairambulance.org.uk/thames-valley-trek or call 01494 923 877.

Once registered, the participants will receive expert training and fundraising support from TVAA’s team of fundraisers. The walkers will also benefit from trek leaders, route maps, markers and refreshments along the route.

TVAA does not receive any government funding and relies entirely on the generosity of the public.

The money raised from events like the Thames Valley Trek provide the vital funds needed to keep TVAA’s emergency service operating.

Walkers are urged to raise at least £250 for the 13-mile trek and £300 for the 26-mile trek.
