A SCHOOL community in Kennington will attempt to walk 1,000 miles in just one day.
St Swithun's CE Primary School is setting the sponsored challenge for students and staff to raise money for Sport Relief.
On Friday participants will walk the perimeter of the school's field as many times as possible, tackling 0.2 miles per lap, and hope to collaboratively clock up the distance.
If successful, they will have exceeded the length of the entire country - John O'Groats to Lands End measure 874 miles apart.
The school is aiming for a minimum of 603 miles, with a more ambitious top target of 1,000, and each child is hoping to walk at least one mile each.
Sport Relief takes place this year between March 17 and March 23.
