HAVING just read Bruce Ross-Smith’s letter (February 21) regarding money for schools, I feel inclined to agree entirely with what he says.

He talks much sense in expanding the south Cherwell school site should Harlequins RFC vacate their site, thus making the need for the Swan School in Old Marston unnecessary. As the gentleman points out, there is already a safe access off the Marston Ferry Link Road. There would be no further hold-up to traffic by having another access.

It’s a pity that people with common sense like Bruce Ross-Smith do not run our councils. The local taxpayer could be spared millions of pounds in wasted money.

Perhaps the RFC site could be purchased for only £1 as the Swan school site was.

Would the powers-that-be take on board what the gentleman says to make things easier and cheaper all round? I won’t hold my breath.
