Neighbours are demanding better security at Florence Park, in Oxford, to stop antisocial behaviour.
The Friends of Florence Park and residents met councillors and officers from Oxford City Council to discuss a list of concerns.
People living nearby want the park locked every night to stop problems including vandalism, graffiti, drug-taking and even police chases through back gardens.
Cowley ward city councillor Shah Khan said: "I understand they are now going to look at maybe employing staff just for the weekend, which is when we have actually got a problem, rather than paying for extra overtime costs for the normal staff."
