Whatever emerges as the facts behind the deaths of Adam Davis and James McCabe, there has certainly been an outpouring of grief from their peers.

Say what you will about the perceived attitudes of the youth of today, dozens of those who knew the pair have been moved to pay tribute in their own way - through oxfordmail.net and at the scene of the crash.

On Tuesday night a large group gathered and some, connected to the Bicester Cruise group of car fans, drove their vehicles there.

On Sunday an even bigger turnout is expected, for a two-minute silence and a balloon release.

Some may view this with a little worry about potential trouble - large numbers of young drivers congregating is a long-standing worry for many people.

But we hope that the police and the organisers work together, as they have said they will, because as long as there is communication there should not be any problems.

Let these young people express their grief in their chosen way and pay tribute to their friends.
