Sir - Reg Little's account (August 3) of energy-from-waste is extremely unbalanced. It is common knowledge that Friends of the Earth do not favour energy-from-waste, but this may well be the technology of the future.

So why not give readers of The Oxford Times a balanced description rather than follow the Friends of the Earth briefing?

For example:

1: The Veolia energy-from-waste unit in Hampshire produces enough electricity to run a town of 8,000 homes

2: When exposed to the facts local resistance in Hampshire evaporated

3: The plant is cleaner than a normal, coal-fired, power station.
