FIREFIGHTERS have praised a Good Samaritan who helped a family-of-five whose car overturned on the A4130 near Wallingford.
Five people - two adults and three children - were injured when their Subaru Impreza crashed on the A4130 on Tuesday night.
The accident happened at 7.45pm on the stretch of road near Oakley Wood, between Wallingford and Nettlebed.
Firefighter Merfyn Newport, based at Didcot, one of 12 firefighters who attended the accident, said: "The Subaru left the road, clipped a lamppost and ended up on its roof.
"The parents and three children, aged between four and ten, were all helped from the vehicle by a member of the public who lives in one of the nearby houses.
"He got involved because he thought the car was leaking petrol and feared it might explode.
"He stayed right until the end to make sure everyone was being treated by ambulance crews. The people in the car were all conscious following the crash."
A spokesman for South Central Ambulance said the five passengers needed hospital treatment, but their injuries were not life-threatening.
