A HEADINGTON man accused of carrying out a campaign of sexual abuse against two young girls has called the claims ‘ridiculous.’
Scott McKenna, of Grays Road, Oxford, is accused of two counts of indecent assault and two counts of indecency with a child on one alleged victim, and a further count of indecent assault on another alleged victim.
As his trial at Oxford Crown Court continued yesterday, the 37-year old took to the witness box and told jurors the allegations were a complete fabrication.
Asked by defence barrister Peter Du Feu if he had engaged in any sexual activity, McKenna told the court: “Absolutely not, it is sickening.
“I would not be attracted to her, let alone her age. I didn’t like her and didn’t do anything wrong. It didn’t even cross my mind.”
He also denied engaging in sexual activity with a second girl, who was one of his alleged victim’s friends at the time.
Prosecutors maintain that McKenna engaged in sexual activity with the two girls in the early 2000s – both of whom are now women and cannot be named for legal reasons.
Earlier in the trial prosecutor Charles Ward-Jackson told the jury of eight men and four women that one of the alleged victims had written in her diary that she ‘loved’ her alleged abuser.
The trial continues.
