ONE person has been issued with a caution as part of an operation which brought knife arches to Oxford city centre for the first time.
About 1,000 people went through the search arches, similar to metal detectors used as part of airport security, over two Friday nights and last Saturday night.
Three items with blades were found - two small penknives and one larger knife - for which an unnamed man was arrested and cautioned for possession of a bladed article.
The knife arches are part of Thames Valley Police's Operation Blunt campaign to tackle knife crime and cut the number of people who carry knives.
All three knives were found at one premises on the same night, The Goose pub, Gloucester Green, on July 27.
