RAIDERS smashed their way into Smith and Sons in Station Road, Enslow.
Police said a padlock on the rear gate was cut off and a large glass window was smashed at the rear of the property.
PC Mike Harris said: "It is not thought that anything was stolen from Smith and Sons but someone may have disturbed the burglars. I would like to ask that anyone who saw anything suspicious contacts me."
