IT IS now one year to the day since the explosion at Gibbs Crescent.
Sadly, the inquest into the death of the man who caused it, Guido Schuette, has produced more questions than answers.
However, it is not the end of the matter. Some of us are continuing to pursue the answers that we need, so that we can hold the authorities to account, where appropriate.
We know that the public sector is struggling to cope after the savage cuts inflicted on it – the NHS, the police, the councils, the housing associations – but if one or more of them have failed in their duty of care, that must be exposed.
Only then can we hope to make sure nothing like this can ever happen again.
