OXFORD'S freeview transmitter is set to be updated as part of a major engineering programme.

Channels are being moved to new airwaves to allow for 'future development of new mobile broadband services'.

The changes will be made to the transmitter, which serves 389,000 homes, shortly after midnight on February 27 and some channels will be off-air until as late as 6am.

Users are being advised they may need to re-tune their sets to continue watching some programmes.
