ABOUT 1,000 people are expected to mark Chinese New Year at Oxford Town Hall as part of a special event.
It has been organised by Oxfordshire Chinese Community & Advice Centre (OCCAC), which will be celebrating the annual event for the 27th year.
Chinese New Year, which will start on Thursday, will celebrate the beginning of the year of the dog.
The OCCAC New Year celebration will take place from 12.45pm until 3.45pm on Sunday.
As part of the festivities a Chinese lunch will be served, followed by activities including a lion dance, martial arts, acrobatics and a performance of Chinese folk music.
Tickets bought in advance cost £15 for adults and children over 13 and £10 for children between three and 12. For more information visit occac.org.uk
