A SPECIAL 'wine and song' fundraiser will be held to raise money for a project to bring music into care homes.

Professional musicians Jasmine Faulkner and William Diggle, who both grew up in the local area, will perform at the Great Hall of Bloxham School on March 24 at 7.30pm.

Money raised from the evening, which will also feature wine tasting led by Rob Yeatman, of Slurp Wine, will go towards Voices Across Time's initiative to work with care home residents to create a mini musical.

The group specialise in writing original historical musical productions where group participation and shared nostalgia are critical parts of the experience.

It is about to begin a five week project at Chacombe Park Care Home which will use songs, residents' experiences and other material to create and rehearse a musical which will be performed on the last day of the project.

Voices Across Time's previous projects have had positive effects on the wellbeing and health of participants.

Residents have reported increased energy, better overall moods and increased interaction with other residents and care staff after being involved in creating a musical.

The fundraiser will see guests sample different types of wine and then enjoy a selection of songs including some favourites from the stage and musicals.

Tickets cost £20 and can be purchased by emailing boxoffice@voicesacrosstime.com or by calling 07532 446 665.
