A PETITION for a joined up continuous cycling network has been signed by more than 700.
The Rose Hill and Iffley Low Carbon group launched the petition to urge Oxfordshire County Council to develop more cycle tracks and make sure the whole city can be travelled safely by cyclists.
It said almost all of the 2,000 cyclists injured on Oxford's streets in the past ten years stemmed from bikes sharing road space with motorists.
The petition also backed the Claudia Comberti Charter - a set of guidelines for safer cycling - named after the cyclists who died after coming off her bike in Botley Road last year.
