PROBLEMS on the A34 continued this morning after two major crashes in the space of a few hours.
Commuters into Oxford faced delays of up to an hour approaching the city after 8am following a crash between a lorry and three cars.
One lane of the northbound carriageway was closed between Abingdon and Oxford following the accident near Kennington.
Congestion was caused on the road and the adjoining A415 leading up to the Marcham Interchange, but is now clear.
One lane was closed for much of the morning northbound for recovery of the vehicles.
It was the second incident on the A34 this morning and the third major one in three days.
The southbound carriageway was at standstill for more than an hour earlier this morning near Didcot after being shut due to a crash involving a lorry and a car that overturned.
That collision happened near the Milton Interchange before 5am this morning and it is not yet know if anyone was injured.

Police closed the carriageway from 5.15am until 6.15am and drivers reported delays of about an hour, withs queue of vehicles stretching from Didcot to Abingdon.
On Monday, a large stretch of the northbound carriageway near Abingdon was closed after a crash involving a large van, two cars and a caravan.
