MORE than 50 Oxford United fans have been arrested over the past three seasons and seven supporters are banned from attending games.

Official figures on football-related offences released by the Government yesterday revealed 51 U's fans have been arrested since the beginning of the 2014-15 season.

In the same period 44 Swindon fans were arrested while 13 are currently serving bans.

The 2015-16 season saw the most Yellows fans arrested as 29 names went into the book.

It was during this season that trouble broke out after Oxford United's JPT semi-final clash with Millwall, which led to eight men - supporting both clubs - being arrested.

Six new banning orders were also issued to U's fans during the 2015/16 season.

In February this year a number of fans were arrested in heated scenes outside the County Ground after Oxford's 2-1 win over Swindon.

The data showed that 35 of those arrests were for public or violent disorder and eight were for alcohol offences.

Three were for invading the pitch, two for possessing pyrotechnics and two for throwing missiles.

Sheffield United fans were arrested the most times - 35 - in League One last year.
