OXFORD has been officially named the most gentlemanly city in the UK.
The city's prestigious university as well as its sartorial reputation preceded it as a survey of more than 2,000 people put it top of the pile.
The Gentleman's Journal study saw 54 per cent of people name Oxford's men as the most gentlemanly - with London in second and Glasgow receiving the fewest votes.
Drinking too much and immature behaviour were named the most ungentlemanly traits - neither of which would be tolerated at Oxford University, of course.
'Inattentiveness' and 'not pulling their weight around the house' were also among the least desirable traits for a gentlemen.
The study also revealed that people thought Italian men were the most stylish dressers, followed by English men and then French.
