THE standard of Oxfordshire care providers continues to outstrip national averages, the most recent figures indicate.

According to the Care Quality Commission, five per cent - or ten - of the county's care providers are outstanding, compared to two per cent nationally at the start of this month.

A total of 84 per cent - or 174 providers - were rated good.

Councillor Lawrie Stratford, Oxfordshire County Council’s cabinet member for adult social care said: “It’s great news that people in Oxfordshire are getting a better service. We work very closely with the CQC."
