AUTHOR and broadcaster Dan Jones is bringing his latest history novel to Broad Street's Blackwell's tomorrow.

He is famous for popularising the medieval period with books on the 1381 English Peasant's Revolt, the Plantagenet kings and the Wars of the Roses, as well as presenting historical documentary series.

This time the writer has tackled the Knights Templar - the wealthiest, most powerful, and most secretive, of the military orders that flourished in the crusading era.

Their story, which encompasses the greatest international conflict of the Middle Ages, a network of international finance, a swift rise in wealth and influence followed by a bloody and humiliating fall has left a sense of mystery that continues to fascinate and inspire historians, novelists and conspiracy theorists.

Tickets are £5 for the 7pm event and are available via the Blackwell's website.
