A FLURRY of crunchy leaves floats to the floor with an enthusiastic kick from Catherine Vivian.
The Harcourt Arboretum education officer marked the colourful turn of the season by trampling through the venue’s Acer trail.
Mrs Vivian said autumn is the most busy season at the arboretum near Nuneham Courtenay, followed by spring for the bluebells.
She said: “The leaves have really started to turn. The main place to see it is on our Acer walk - it’s really beautiful, there are lots of different reds and oranges.
“Autumn is definitely our most popular season, especially when it’s nice and sunny.
“It’s a great time of year to come and visit.”
The arboretum has been part of Oxford University since 1963, encompassing 130 acres and a plethora of plant species.
Mrs Vivian said there are currently piglets on site, which families can visit, and encouraged people to pop along to the autumn fair on Saturday, October 21.
It runs from 11am-4pm and includes woodland story-telling, folk music and local food produce.
