OXFORD'S landmarks were beacons of splendour last night, as the city celebrated science and the arts.
With patterns and slogans such as 'books fire up your imagination' emblazoned on the Bodleian Library, the Museum of Natural History and the Ashmolean Museum, visitors were in awe of the Night of Heritage Light 2017.
Other iconic sites to be lit up during Friday evening were: Museum of the History of Science, Radcliffe Camera, Radcliffe Observatory and the Radcliffe Humanities.
Expert lighting technicians put their designs on display to demonstrate the power of light. Combining their love of light and art, design teams use their skills enhance the stunning architecture and light up the night time environment.
Lighting designer Jonathan Rush tweeted out his delight on his instillation on the Radcliffe Observatory.

Researcher at Oxford University Sana Suri said it was a 'rare opportunity' to see the Radcliffe Camera lit up so spectacularly.
