A WOMAN who was reportedly a former Oxford University professor has died after being mauled to death by a pack of stray dogs while on holiday in Greece.
The woman named as Celia Hollingworth had been missing since Thursday after enjoying a visit to the Mesimvria archaeological site near Petrota Beach, not far from the Turkish border.
The Bradford on Avon resident reportedly phoned her family to say that she was being attacked by the stray dogs but it was only on Saturday when the authorities found her body in the mountainous region.
Media in Greece have reported that she was a former Oxford professor.
The 62-year-old was a key player in protesting against plans for a 15-metre high mobile phone mast in Bradford on Avon and she also fundraised for Syrian refugees.
