MORE than £1,000 has been raised by sixth formers ahead of a trip to Eastern Europe.
Pupils at Abingdon School will travel to Moldova in the summer to run camps for children there along with the charity Agape.
Last week they spent a day running, cycling, rowing and climbing in the school sports centre to raise money through sponsorship.
One group used the hall’s climbing wall to scale 430m – the equivalent of the highest geographical point in Moldova, Balanesti Hill.
Another used gym equipment to cover 398km, the length of the River Dneister.
