STAFF at the Bodleian Library are preparing for a major exhibition on the work of JRR Tolkien, the author of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.
The free exhibition entitled Tolkien: Maker of Middle-earth, will take place at the Bodleian’s Weston Library from June 1 to October 28, 2018.
For the first time since the 1950s, an unprecedented array of Tolkien materials from the UK and the USA will be reunited in Oxford and displayed together.
Among items on show will be manuscripts, artwork, maps, letters and artefacts from the Bodleian’s own extensive Tolkien Archive.
