A LEGAL challenge to save a threatened medical centre has been rejected by a judge.
Patient Yvonne De Burgo, 71, had applied for a judicial review into the closure of Deer Park Medical Centre, in Edington Square, alleging that health bosses had failed to consult properly on its plans.
Today, however, a High Court judge dismissed the application in the Royal Courts of Justice, London.
Grandmother Mrs De Burgo had hoped the review would at least delay the surgery's closure.
As it currently stands, the 4,400 patients registered at the centre will have to find an alternative surgery by March.
Oxfordshire CCG said it had been forced to close it because, when it put the service out to tender, no one came forward with a business plan that met its standards. The surgery had been run by Virgin Care.
