A second vigil for Syria in the space of a week was held in Oxford.
Residents organised the ‘community vigil’ in Manzil Way from 5.30pm on Friday night.
Organisers said they wanted to show solidarity for the people of Syria and ‘to come together to protest the barbaric attacks on civilians in East Aleppo and show that we are watching, that we care, and we demand a safe passage for the displaced’.
It came after a bleak week in Aleppo which saw the last areas of rebel control taken by Government forces.
There have been reports of summary executions and several attempts at evacuating the city.
The group held carboard signs, some of which urged Prime Minister Theresa May to take action.
It was one of several events across the UK.
