LAST orders were called at a central Banbury pub last week but it has already re-opened under new management.

In May this year owners JD Wetherspoon called time on the Fleur-de-Lis pub in Broad Street as one of 45 pubs being sold off by the budget gastropub chain.

But on Wednesday, November 23 new owners the Stonegate Pub Company - which runs the Slug & Lettuce chain - moved in and it was business as usual from Friday.

All staff have retained their jobs and over the coming weeks the pub will undergo some renovations and will have a new look in the New Year.

Food and drink is still being served and a traditional Sunday lunch is being introduced, with Christmas parties being offered throughout December.

Stonegate chief executive Simon Longbottom said: "We have a strong track record in picking sites that, when we add a touch of Stonegate magic, customers love.

"We are already planning the next stage of the pub’s future with investment which will enhance the pubs offer and we’re looking forward to revealing those plans in the coming months. In the meantime it’s a huge welcome to the pub’s team and loyal customers whom we look forward in continuing to serve."
