BRIGHT lights will illuminate historic Blenheim Palace following the unveiling of the latest addition to the landmark – the Christmas Light Trail.
The UNESCO World Heritage site has emerged in holiday spirit with the Christmas at Blenheim trail transforming the palace into a winter wonderland.
One hour long tours will begin at 5pm with the last tours of the day at 8pm. The event runs until January 2 2017.
The first half of the trail weaves through the beautiful Palace gardens, and the second half guides visitors through the lakeside woodland path.
The trail was designed by Culture Creative, and worked within the UNESCO World Heritage site to develop a unique experience at the palace.
In addition to the lights, the boathouse will be transformed in to Father Christmas’ Oxfordshire Home, where visitors can hear Santa hard at work making children’s Christmas gifts. There will also be a scented Fire Garden, complete with carpet of fire and luminescent lanterns.
Glowing boats will gloat across the pond filled with presents and snowflakes, and holiday drinks such as spiced cider, mulled wine, and hot chocolate will be available for purchase.
Christmas treats will be in supply as well, with roasted chestnuts and marshmallows ready for toasting.
