THREE men are braving some soggy weather to row from Oxford to London to raise money for charity.
Alan Holliday, 50, Jon Lock, 49, and Chris White, 51, are rowing the 100 miles along the River Thames in a traditional rowing skiff to raise money for Sobell House hospice.
The three Oxfordshire men, who all work together at GfK Mystery Shopping in King Charles House Park End Street, Oxford, aim to raise £15,000 in sponsorship.
Mr White said: "Sobell House hospice is a marvellous organisation that, at any one time, helps hundred of patients with life-threatening illnesses live with dignity and freedom from pain."
The three rowers set off from Folly Bridge in Oxford on Saturday and have been making good time. Andrew Parsons a friend of Mr White, who helped to organise the event, said: "I spoke to them the other day and they were at Teddington Lock.
"They're doing about 20 miles a day.
"The weather was awful on Tuesday, so they struggled at bit, but it's all for a good cause."
