Some of the brightest students at Oxford Community School took part in a pilot project with scientists from the Institute of Physics on Monday.
The aim of the project, which involved 32 pupils aged 14 and 15, was to increase the number of pupils going on to study physics at university.
The students were working with the Careers Research Advisory Council and physicists from a range of backgrounds.
