COUNTY councillors have paid tribute to leader Keith Mitchell on being made a CBE.
Leading the congratulations, Oxfordshire County Council chairman Liz Brighouse, said: "He works tirelessly for the people of Oxfordshire and the region."
Tributes to Mr Mitchell's achievement were also paid by all opposition parties at a meeting of the full council yesterday.
Green party councillor Craig Simmons said: "You command respect from those who are politically poles apart."
Mr Mitchell was made a CBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours list last week.
