A 30-year-old man found in a driveway in Margaret Road, Adderbury, early on Sunday remains in a critical condition at Oxford's John Radcliffe Hospital, police said today.
The man, who has not been named, underwent surgery on Monday for serious head injuries.
Police say the man was the victim of an assault, and have appealed for witnesses. Forensic officers carried out an inspection of the scene and detectives carried out house-to-house inquiries.
