GRUESOME glow-in-the dark liquid and stretchy slime had youngsters captivated at the Story Museum this half term.

As part of their programme of howling half term events, the museum in Pembroke Street invited Science Oxford to create bubbling potions.

Maisie and Alfie Moore, from Botley, west Oxford, said their favourite part of the afternoon was making the slime.

Maisie, 8, said: "We learned a lot and I think making the slime was definitely the best bit of the day.

"We also put vinegar, bicarbonate of soda in a cup and we had these little blue lights, which we shone under the cup so the mixture glowed in the dark.

"The ultra violet light absorbed it."

Her seven-year-old brother Alfie agreed with his sister and said making the slime was "good fun."

He said: "It is all sticky and squidgy, it has mainly stuck to me."
