ALEX James, former bassist with top band Blur, is on the look-out for new musical talent in his home village of Kingham this weekend.
He will be judging a Battle of the Bands competition for Oxfordshire secondary schools at the Commotion Festival on Saturday, along with renowned music producer Steve Lipson.
The for-the-family festival at the village primary school is raising money for music education in the community and the children's charity CLIC-Sergeant (Cancer and Leukaemia in Children).
Commotion organiser Kate Woodward said: "A boy in reception year at our school had two years of treatment for leukaemia as a baby and still gets regular check-ups.
"The two CLIC nurses at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford were fantastic."
