THE future of secondary schooling in Wantage and Grove is due to be decided today.
County councillors are expected to debate which of three options is best for educating young people in the area. King Alfred's Community and Sports College, in Wantage, would like to run two schools - one in the town and another in Grove - which would have the same name, one headteacher and a shared staff.
The other options up for consideration are two separate schools in Wantage and Grove, each with 1,250 pupils, meaning a cut in numbers at King Alfred's, or a 600-pupil school in Grove with no change to King Alfred's.
