Preparations for Oxford's 15th Motor Show are under way and the day is promising to be better than ever.

The show, combined with a summer craft fair, is being organised by Newsquest Oxfordshire and will be run by the Oxford Mail and The Oxford Times.

More than 5,000 people packed into Cutteslowe Park in Oxford last year and organisers are hoping as many will turn out again for the event on Sunday.

Gail Ainsworth, who is organising this year's event, said: "It's a very family orientated event that will be a great day out for anyone who comes along.

"People will get the chance to see all the latest makes and models of cars and motorcycles, and there will be trade stands for those looking to buy."

"People can also take part in the different competitions that will be going on throughout the day.

"There will be a great selection of craft stalls, so there will plenty of opportunity for people to shop as well."

The show will take place in Cutteslowe Park in North Oxford from 10am until 4pm.

While the cars, both new and old, will undoubtedly be the star attraction, there will be something to entertain people of all ages on the day.

Radio station Fox FM will be hosting a roadshow from the event and DJ Adam Ball will be broadcasting his show live on the day.

There will also be people dressed as famous icons from the 1940s, a bungee run and several lives shows taking place on the Fly To The Past - Festival Of Flight stage.

Mrs Ainsworth said: "There will be children performing a gymnastics display, live jazz dancing and lots of other live entertainment taking place that will be great fun for the whole family."

The event is free to enter, but there will be people collecting for the Oxford Children's Hospital on the day, so any donations will be welcome.

The Oxford Mail and The Oxford Times will also be using the day to launch its new magazine, Elan/Elite, a lifestyle magazine for men and women.

The new stand-alone magazine is a relaunch of the existing Elan magazine, but will incorporate the new men's magazine Elite in the new double-sided design.

Mrs Ainsworth said: "There will people on the day wearing Elan/Elite t-shirts handing out goody bags, so people should keep their eyes out for them."
