A Kidlington butcher has beaten a string of banger makers in a national sausage competition.
David Woodward, above, who runs Woodland's Quality Butchers in Bicester Road, Kidlington, has picked up eight awards at the Newark and Nottingham Robin Hood Championships.
Mr Woodward's pork and leek, Lincolnshire, Cumberland and sage, Oxfordshire and mature cheese and pork sausages all won silver awards.
But three of his sausages - pork and chive, honey roast pork and plain pork - were all given gold awards.
The butchers has only been open for 18 months, but Mr Woodward is already supplying sausages to pubs, restaurants and colleges in the area.
Particular favourites, he said, were the Cumberland and sage and the pork and leek varieties.
He said: "I am very pleased. It just emphasises what we are about, quality, and makes our customers understand that as well.
"We have gone in the last 12 months from selling 60 to 70lbs of sausages a week to 400lbs a week and we've started to get in a few new flavours. Our meat comes from within Oxfordshire which makes a big difference."
