A BLAZE was prevented from spreading through a home in Thame thanks to a plumber raising the alarm.
The plumber was working at a home in Onslow Drive at about 11.20am on Friday when he notified Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service to a fire which had broken out inside an airing cupboard.
Fire crews were dispatched and two firefighters were able to enter the building and extinguish the flames with high pressure hose jets.
Watch manager Mark O’Connor said: “Due to the swift actions of the crews following the prompt emergency call from the tradesman, a fire inside an airing cupboard was extinguished and fire escalation and smoke damage to other parts of the building were prevented.”
