CHILDREN as young as five are learning a few tricks of the business world.
All six classes at Aston village primary school in west Oxfordshire have been challenged to hold money-making events. Last week, it was the turn of the youngest children - five and six-year-olds in class one - who put on a strawberry fair.
Inviting parents, schoolmates and friends, they served up cream teas with scones, strawberries and ice cream.
Other classes, with the help of their teachers, have made plans for an Indian film and food evening, a bring and buy sale, and a hot dog and cookie sale.
The ball started rolling after headteacher Marjorie Ottley decided to give each class a £20 starter fund from the school budget.
The children then came up with promotion ideas.
