A SURVEY has been carried out to prepare for work to repair Oxford's Castle Mound later this year.
The three-day survey at the Mound was conducted last week to pave the way for repairs, which are expected to be carried out in September.
In February, a series of landslips on the New Road side of the mound led to its closure but it was reopened to the public after being made safe.
Principal county engineer Martin Brain said : "The work at the Castle Mound has been to carry out a small investigation to establish the properties of the soils, and also a topographical survey, to pick up the precise outline of the slip area. The information from this will be used to draw up a proposal for the permanent remedial works."
