DATA hackers have been sentenced for stealing confidential information from a rival company.
Directors of Kidlington-based company Quadsys Alistair Barnard, 39, Paul Cox, 41, and Paul Streeter, 41, along with employees Steve Davies, 35, and Jonathan Townsend, 37, admitted obtaining unauthorised access to computer material to facilitate commission of an offence.
It followed an investigation by Thames Valley Police and South East Regional Organised Crime Unit (SEROCU).
They admitted stealing the data from rival company IT Bus Limited to try and win business for their company.
Barnard, Cox, Streeter and Davies were handed suspended sentences, while Townsend walked away with a community order, at Oxford Crown Court today.
