LITTLEMORE's parish church will once again be filled with the talents of local people as an annual celebration returns for its 10th year.

The Harvest of the Talents at St Mary and St Nicholas Church coincides with traditional harvest services held across the country which thank God for his gift of food each autumn.

Every year the church is filled with arts and crafts created by people from the area, in addition to musical performances.

This year the event coincides with musician Malcolm Atkins' residency at the church.

Mr Atkins hosts a multicultural singing group called Sezenina every other Wednesday at 6.15pm and the church hosts regular concerts on the last Sunday of every month.

He said: "We are setting up Sunday afternoon concerts once a month at 3pm as a way of bringing all communities together to hear music from all styles that are played in our community: early music, Baroque, classical, modern, folk, African, Sufi, Punjabi, Persian.

"These are just a few genres we will be sharing."

Mr Atkins hopes to create a work that brings together anyone who is interested in a production based around a text by John Henry Newman.

Harvest of the Talents runs until Sunday, October 9.

The church will be open from 9am to 10am and 5pm to 6pm on weekdays, as well as 10am to 3pm on weekends.
