DRIVERS from Oxford Motor Club rallied for a trip to Buckinghamshire at the weekend.

The Cars to the Claydons run took place on Saturday, starting out from Cotswold Wildlife Park near Burford.

It was the first rally of its type organised by the club.

The 70-mile route passed through towns and villages including Burford, Little Rissington, Kingham, Ascott-under-Wychwood, Charlbury, Kiddington, Middle Barton, Ardley, and Stoke Lyne.

The trip finished at the Cars in the Claydons motoring and motor sport show at Claydon House, Middle Claydon, Buckinghamshire.

Among those taking part was Elizabeth Nohl-Oser, who brought her whippet along for ride in her Rover Mini Cooper.

Oxford Motor Club spokesman Simon Marks said: "Twenty-four cars took part with crews coming from as far afield as Wales, London and Norfolk and the oldest car was a 1928 Le Mans Bentley.

"The weather was mainly overcast on the run and once at Claydon House, the heavens opened."
