THE NUMBER of frontline prison officers in Bullingdon Prison has risen this year following a recruitment drive.
Nationally the number of frontline officers has fallen with prison populations growing but the Oxfordshire prison has added to its staff.
The Arncott prison, which has had an average population of 1,100 for the past two years, had 182 officers this year compared to 160 in 2015.
Over the past year the Ministry of Justice has implemented plans to recruit more staff to deal with high levels of violence, suicide and self-harm.
