A MAN was treated by paramedics after a model aircraft battery caused a garage to catch fire in Thame.
Fire crews from four county stations - along with crews from Buckinghamshire - rushed to Chestnut Avenue when a garage fire quickly spread to an attached bungalow just before 9.30am.
Everyone in the property made it out of the house safely but one man - who tried to remove dangerous hazards from the garage during the fire - was treated for smoke inhalation.
Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service said the fire was started when a model aircraft battery - charging overnight - became overheated and caught fire.
Station manager Marcus Reay said: "The gentleman was checked out by South Central Ambulance service at the scene for smoke inhalation and was given the all clear, having entered the property during the fire.
"Although this helped to reduce the intensity of the fire, Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service always urge that once you are out of the building, and have called the fire service out, you stay out.”
